Philosophy of Science
Expertise | Pluralism | Economics | Sustainability
My research focuses on issues related to disagreements and diversity of perspectives in science, trust in science, and the role of science and research in policymaking and politics. I often think about these issues in the context of economics and other social sciences. Recently, I have been focusing on sustainability-related questions and the epistemology of expertise. You can read more on my research here.
In 2026, I work at Stockholm University as a visiting researcher. Previously, I have been a postdoctoral fellow at the SOCRATES Centre of Advanced Studies at Leibniz University Hannover and a grant-funded postdoctoral researcher at the TINT Centre for Philosophy of Social Science at the University of Helsinki. I got the degree of Doctor of Social Sciences from the University of Helsinki in 2024 with a dissertation on pluralism in economics.
My recent publications include:
- A paper on Helen Longino’s critical contextual empiricism and feminist economics (Studies in History and Philosophy of Science)
- A paper commenting on macroeconomics from the perspective of social epistemology (Cambridge Journal of Economics)
- An interview with the economist Ha-Joon Chang (Erasmus Journal for Philosophy and Economics)
- A paper on the costs and benefits of intellectual diversity in economics (with Uskali Mäki) (Philosophy of the Social Sciences)
Other publications can be found in my CV. You can also find me on Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Bluesky and PhilPeople.
